Legacy on Kiest is a four-story affordable walk-up community located in Dallas, Texas, and owned by LDG Development. With 180 units ranging from one to three bedrooms, the property offers residents both comfort and convenience in a well-connected urban setting.
The name “Legacy on Kiest” carries a unique historical tie, honoring a longtime publisher of The Dallas Times Herald. This connection not only inspired the property’s initial logo but also reinforces its place in the fabric of Dallas’s story. By blending meaningful history with modern design and amenities, Legacy on Kiest provides residents with a community that is rooted in local heritage while meeting today’s housing needs.
brand without identity
Legacy on Kiest, a newly developed property, presented the opportunity to create a brand identity that felt authentic, engaging, and community-driven. Originally, they utilized their namesake, Kiest, a well known publisher in the area, as the inspiration for their logo and icon. The typewriter inspiration was a good foundation for our job in building out the entire brand for the property, including fonts and logo development.

For Legacy on Kiest, we crafted a brand that honors local history while feeling modern and approachable. Drawing inspiration from Edwin Kiest’s legacy as a civic leader and publisher, we developed a logo concept using typewriter-style fonts and newspaper motifs. Paired with a refined color palette and timeless typography, the brand delivers a strong sense of place rooted in storytelling and tradition.
