Set in San Francisco’s historic Tenderloin neighborhood, The Academe at 198 is a 14-story mixed-use development featuring 656 furnished beds across studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. Specifically designed with graduate students and professionals in mind, the community blends practical living with elevated amenities such as study lounges, fitness spaces, communal kitchens, and public-facing classrooms and retail.
More than housing, The Academe at 198 fosters an environment of collaboration, learning, and convenience, providing residents with a thoughtful balance between academic focus and urban lifestyle in one of San Francisco’s most connected locations.

brand without identity.
UC Law San Francisco initiated an ambitious project: a brand new campus residence within their Academic Village, tailored not only for their own graduate students but to act as a multidisciplinary hub. The property lacked any visual identity or marketing strategy to support leasing efforts or build awareness, creating an urgent need for branding, digital, and promotional materials to kickstart occupancy and lasting engagement.

We delivered a bold and cohesive brand identity that captures the vibrant energy of both San Francisco and academic life. Our design system incorporates primary color pops and geometric elements, reminiscent of museum graphics and scholarly structure, to craft a modern and aspirational look. We developed the logo, visual identity, and typography and extended our work across marketing collateral, signage, website design, digital advertising, and social media management.
The result? A dynamic, clear brand that supports leasing, enhances recognition, and positions The Academe at 198 as the premier academic living space in downtown San Francisco.
